3. How to teach to your kids to dance?

Kids’ dance lessons can be started as young as aged two or three years old. Of course at this age, they can barely walk, so you don’t expect much from your kid. Most classes for toddlers are more of an introductory kids dance class to get the kids used to dancing. They don’t have the attention span at this age for a real organized dance class, and you will find every kid is going to be going off in a different direction!
By the time the kids reach preschool age, or aged 4-6, they can be enrolled in a pre-dance class. This class can introduce them to the basics of dance. It will teach them the beginnings of move and dance. They can get their little limbs limbered up, and ready to get serious about dance when they get a little older, about 9 or 10. This is about the age when they can really start getting serious.
Starting kids’ dance at a younger age teaches them not only a love of classical music, but to show respect for their teachers and the parents, enhances posture and muscle control and encourages determination and tenacity! It builds self respect also!
Point work should not begin till the earliest age of 11 or 12.  If kids dance en point too soon, she could damage ligaments and tendons. Be aware of your child’s safety, this should come first and foremost.
Parents should be able to watch the children dancing through a mirror or a TV monitor. If they are in the same room with the kids, it is too much of a distraction, especially for the younger kids. Younger kids will benefit from the dance classes, even if they don’t learn “dance” because they are learning to listen, follow directions, how to be a part of the class, how to take turns, how to “move to the groove”, and how to express their movements. This creates confidence, and also teaches at a young age how a great work out is important! This will help them at a later date in the later dance classes.
As the child gets older, they will come to love dance, and they will become more flexible, graceful, interested and sophisticated in their dance. By starting your kid at a young age in early pre dance lessons and teaching them the essentials, your kid will learn to love the all kind of music, love the dance. Your kid will have many years of dance experience by the time he or she reaches adulthood. It will heighten flexibility, improve posture and it will also teach manners and respect. Dance is a wonderful art so Good luck!
