1. Acting lessons for kids, why is it important?

Of all the subjects to teach, acting may be one of the most exciting and fun as long as the kids are engaged in the activities and you’re having a good time as parent. Very young kids can be taught acting skills early on, just like older adults can be taught acting skills for the first time very late in life.
Use must your own experience. You must not be a very effective acting person so you don’t need to have some personal experience in acting on which to base your teachings. In other words, if you have never been on a stage or in front of a camera, no problem you can teach but don’t forget what it’s like to be in front of an audience for the first time. It can be terrifying for some kids and not only.

3. How to teach to your kids to act?

A kid’s immediate reaction to criticism or unkind words and actions can be inappropriate. Teaching kids to respond to difficult situations with appropriate words and behaviors is difficult, but important for successful social relationships.
Taking a break from a situation allows kids to gather their thoughts before acting. Teach kids to take time to think about a response. The time out can be as short as counting to ten. Taking a break to gather their thoughts and emotions is the initial step in responding appropriately to difficult situations in life.
Demonstrate techniques to the kids. You can’t hope to be an effective acting teacher if you aren’t willing to get up in front of your kid once in a while and show them how it’s done. Don’t lord over your kids from a chair in the back of the room. Get involved in what the kids are doing and you will be a much more effective acting teacher.
Sometimes kids misunderstand the jokes, comments, or actions of older people. Teach kids to review situations and ask themselves questions. For example: Could it have been a joke? Is this person usually unkind or critical or could they be having a bad day? What did their body language say? Were they looking at someone else? Don’t neglect to teach the basics: stage directions, cold reads, and audition etiquette should be a part of your lessons.
If they need to take a break, let them to take a short walk, going to the restroom, walking the dog. These strategies are positive ways to use energy while giving kids time to review the situation and think of an appropriate response.

Make it fun. Acting can be loads of fun if you show everyone what a great time they can have pretending to be someone, and capitalize on their innate energy and creativity.
Teach kids to excuse themselves or respond to difficult situations with a set line that allows them to address the situation initially while remaining calm, like: ‘Excuse me,’ or ‘That wasn’t very nice’ are polite responses that allow the kid to take a break, think and determine an appropriate response to the situation. Discuss when and how to use this phrase.
Let your students lead the class once in a while. There are no absolutes in acting; what works for one student may not work for another. By allowing your students the opportunity to take charge of the class once in a while, you become a better teacher.(Cw for kids)
